Stop Creditor Harassment Through Bankruptcy
The No. 1 complaint I hear from my clients is that they cannot sleep at night because of the stress, anxiety, worry and tension caused by constant collection calls. Creditors are relentless and will contact not only you, but your co-workers, your family, your friends and neighbors.
At my law office, I will explain the laws your creditors must follow when making collection efforts and review the options you have to stop creditor harassment. I am Salt Lake City attorney Roger Kraft, and I can stop creditor harassment. I have helped countless clients find the debt relief solutions they need and deserve.
Do you want creditor harassment to stop immediately? Then contact my law office to schedule a free consultation to learn how I can help. Please call 801-871-8353 or 800-640-3207, or complete my contact form.
What Can Debt Collectors Legally Do?
Your creditors must follow the rules set forth in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Debt collectors may contact you in person, by phone or fax, and they must tell you what debt they are collecting and how much is owed.
Creditors may not:
- Contact you between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- Contact you again if you send a letter telling them to stop
- Contact you directly once you have hired a lawyer
- Threaten you with violence or job loss
Bankruptcy STOPS Creditor Harassment
By filing for any form of bankruptcy, you can put an immediate stop to calls, letters and other harassment from your creditors. I will explain the process involved with options such as:
- Chapter 7 bankruptcy to discharge debt
- Chapter 13 bankruptcy to reorganize and pay back debt
- Other bankruptcy plans or debt relief solutions
If you file for bankruptcy and your creditors continue to contact you, I will personally contact them, warn them or go after them in federal court. I am an aggressive attorney dedicated to protecting my clients’ rights, and I will not hesitate to pursue legal penalties. In some cases, your creditors may end up owing you money.
